It’s really not all that bad if you know what you’re doing. I’ve been doing this for years, so it’s pretty much just a in and out kind of thing at this point. Not too terribly gross.
I mean… I suppose. Is there any particular reason you prefer processing a chicken yourself rather than buying one already processed?
We have them to lay eggs, and the one we killed tonight hadn’t laid anything in six months. And since we have them around for eggs, not as pets, keeping them if they’re not laying is just taking away food and resources from the chickens that are. So we eat them.
